The Cat/Camel Warm-up in Cranston RI

The Cat/Camel Warm-up helps relieve pressure on your spine and maintains its flexibility.

How to Perform the Cat/Camel:

Step 1: Position yourself on your hands and knees. Your wrists should be directly under your shoulders, and your knees under your hips. Keep your spine neutral, like a straight line from your head to your tailbone.

Step 2: As you exhale, move into the cat/camel position by rounding your spine toward the ceiling. Drop your head, tuck your tailbone, and look down toward your navel. Hold this for a few seconds before returning to neutral.

Step 3: Arch your back so you drop your belly towards the floor and look up gently. Focus on squeezing the muscles in your lower back, hold for one second, and then return to neutral.

Move slowly between these positions. You should feel no pain; the movement is meant to be gentle and progressive to help your spine relax.

Discontinue if you experience any pain.
